Beach Pod

This year the garden has quite a crop of “beach pea” pods. These are very much like sweet peas but the flowers have no scent (drat). They are common along the edge of nearby Pebble Beach so we call them beach peas but they probably have another name. The birds plant them for us.

The other day the pods were nicely backlit – a suitable subject for a macro lens. I like how you can see ghosts of the peas in their pods.

    • Thank you Karen – I wanted to try a white background for these to see how that would work, but there was not anything available in the background that would work. Some other time.

      • Life has just been simply CRAZY, I get to post to my blog but haven’t really had time to respond to comments or visit other blogs (like yours). Sigh, I’ve promised myself yesterday that I am GOING to make time for myself (what a concept eh). :D

      • Well, thanks so much for putting me on your list :) I know the feeling – sometime I really only have time for posting, and comment replies maybe, but then just don’t get out and about looking at other work. I hope the crazy times are productive times, not too much wheel spinning.

  1. Even though no longer having macro lenses I’m always interested in other peoples approach to this type of photography. The universe of macro has such mystery and beauty and all of it shows in these photos. Awesome and very elegant, especially as it shows in image 1.
