Peace
These are photos from my birthday party earlier in the summer.
By some small miracle all 4 of my siblings who live scattered about the globe were in town. It was probably the first time in 15 years we were all in one place. It was a big crowd, and a fun time.
The photo above is my mother. Normally I would consider a mid-blink shot to be ruined, but in this instance I think it conveys very well her satisfaction at having all her children gather in one place, and the pleasure of celebrating the 60th birthday of a child.
I’d be extremely happy to live so long as to see my kids turn 60; though technically feasible it seems highly unlikely.
Most of the the rest of this roll is published at 52 Rolls today, in a post called Birthday Pairs, here.

Thanks Sherry. It was a fun gathering, so many people there, only a small fraction of them are in these posts.

great pics. odd how the kids grow older while we stay more or less the same.

Hi Richard – the kids do seem to get older, don’t they. I, on the other hand, haven’t aged a day in 30 years (I keep telling that to my hair, waistline, knees, elbows, etc but they don’t have ears. Speaking of ears, my tinnitus ain’t listening either).

Lovely photos and sentiments, Mr E. Hope you live long enough to see your kids turn 60 too, so long as you keep on bloggin’. X

Well, I can’t imagine blogging for another 32 or so years either. But it would be nice to have the wits to do so into my 90s if I so chose.

All we can hope for is to stay young in spirit, I guess. It is amazing what older people are achieving these days, so I’m hoping anything is possible.

There are lots of good memories caught there.
Did the cake taste as good as it looked?

Thanks Yvonne, I find the shots taken on film have more of a nostalgic memory feel from the outset.
The cake was excellent. Strawberries and whipped cream inside and out – what could be better?
