Submerged
This is a storm drain, but not the storm drain.
This one is in McNeill Bay which is the opposite direction from my daily route.
It was a wonderfully sunny February day, the kind which we always need more of.

It looks like you are above it, but I guess that is another part of the illusions you create with this . . . drain. Doesn’t seem right to keep calling it such a prosaic name. It has risen far above its purpose due to your photos.

Still my favourite of your series. This is so different. How were you able to get this angle?

Hi Kate – this storm drain has a concrete structure at street level and the “pipe” in the photo flows from its base. I could stand on top of the concrete and look down. There is even a railing for safety 🙂

Beautiful picture … love the mountains at the top … all that’s missing is a mermaid !!

Thanks Ashoke – those are the Olympic Mtns in Washington State. The mermaid was sunning on a warm rock at the lighthouse on Trial Island – you can see the light in this photo, but not the mermaid.

You can’t have too many storm drains.

I think that might be true. I don’t seek them, but I do notice them. I think you will find about 6 of them on these pages if you were to take an inventory.

I promise that “Eric M” and I are NOT the same person. In case you were suspicious.

I was beginning to wonder. How many storm drain devotees (junkies) can there be?

My first name is Evelyn, which makes me Evelyn M, which is remarkably similar to Eric M. Just wanted to point that out….

Ah, so you are and Eric M. are the same person, in different guises? Tripped up by the storm drain fetish. Another useful application for storm drain photography.

I’m not saying we are. But I’m also not saying we aren’t….
Also, I can’t decide if, on the spectrum of fetishes, a storm drain fetish is weird, or damn weird.

So, that’s how you’re going to be?!!

Well. There is photographic evidence that could be interpreted as a fetish. So I had better not add to it with words….
