Iris Leaves

The iris leaves are on their way out now. This photo from two or three weeks ago caught their last beauty.

Though tinged with yellow in places and looking a bit tatty, the bright sun and a black and white conversion brings out some of the remaining interest.

    • I wish I had found a way to photograph just that one stand, without mangling the others. Glad you like it, I am very happy with that one strand, it makes the rest of the picture.

  2. These are just beautiful, especially the first photo. This is a reminder that this is a great time of year to get the macro out and shoot some vegitation. Doesn’t have to be flowers.

    • Thank you Ken – I wondered if I should just stick with the first one, but since I had the second done, threw it in too. It does not have the right focal point to work well. And I agree about the time of year and vegetation – there are some really interesting things in the garden, especially lighting, if one looks for them.

    • Thank you Mike – I can’t say I knew this was what I was going to get when I tried the tone-mapping. I was hoping for some real pop to the detail, but once I started I could see this might be possible, and finished it off in lightroom.
