Coho Station Twelve

Another shot from the Coho Ferry, taken on my trip to the Olympic Peninsula in July.
I am of two minds about whether is shot is better in black and white, or red and white. They each have merit.

I agree with you that with this picture both b/w and colour have its merit, but as soon as you scroll down to the colour one the b/w somehow fades. The red in your picture is a really nice shade, and it’s the eye catcher that makes this picture, in my opinion.

Color: that’s the way to go on this one. The b&w version is too flat, I think.

Thanks Melinda. Flat – I see that. And if you are voting colour, then I know the b&w isn’t working.

Don’t overlook the possibility that I don’t really even know what I am talking about…..

I’m with Ken on this. And I’ll bet that what drew you to this spot was the color. Nice one.

Hi Linda – you are right, that is what drew me to it in the first place, I should have paid more attention to that fact. I have several of these fire stations from this trip, though I was not deliberately ‘collecting’ them, it just happened.

In this case, the color image is much more striking than the black and white. The lack of any other color but the red is very nice and unusual, almost like selective color.

Thanks Ken. I like that about it too.
