Hi Ken – we are like-minded on this one. I did prepare a black and white conversion first, but in the end I really liked this one – the cold tones of the ice seemed just right.

Great image! I like the strength and regularity of the shape, combined with the fragility of the ice. It’s as though the strength of the shape is asking to be broken.

Thanks Richard, a very poetic observation. And the ice around here was just asking to be broken. The shot a few days ago of my eldest son stomping the ice is only 5m from this spot.
