Carrier

2014-XA-003-01

In Carrier’s Station way back in mid July I commented that I had seen a letter carrier rummaging in this box and taken another shot.

And so I did, and here it is. It took me a long time to finish that roll of film.

I like the cord that goes from his hip to the latch on the door – presumably attached to a pretty important key.

  1. We don’t have to know what’s in the box. Reminds me of the movie “Ronin” where the protagonists were in pursuit of a case. We never found out what was in the case, but it didn’t matter.

    • Hi Ken – you are right, it does not matter what is in the box. And indeed, even though I know it is a postal box filled with letters and small packets, it is still true that we, and the postman, have no idea what is them. No one knows the entirety of the contents of that box at any one time. Unlike the contents of all the email notifications streaming through any one IP at any time – it seems likely someone knows all that content more thoroughly than they will ever know what is in this old fashioned box.
