Hunter Gatherer Skirt
Earlier this week, this curious scene caught my eye on Pandora Street, near Government Street. The unaltered photo, which is the bottom of the three I show here, is one of those frustrating pictures which seems to have lots of potential, but which I can’t realise with cropping or simple edits to the image. The pumpkin is an important part of the picture, but just does not fit, and I really like the “Hunter Gatherer” sign (the name of a second-hand clothing store in Fan Tan Alley).
Anyway, I like the crop above sufficiently to share it – the black velvet mannequin body has a subtle texture that blends into the background, losing all its dark edges. The image below works for me too in that it could be in motion while being worn. The uncropped shot at the bottom has its own charm (and a pumpkin), but is too cluttered.
Third image removed – trying to open space in my WP limited file size.

i liked the first one the most and then the second one and when i looked carefully the third one as well ! the first one doesnt distract and their is one subject to focus on…i like the shapes, the tone of black and the delicate patterns in the clothes. As for #2, it reallly brings out the details and frailities and the sorrounding gives it context. As for #3, it is most distracting of the lot, but immediately identifiable and a bit more fun than the other two !

abu, I am really enjoying your comments and learning from them too. These kinds of comments make me have a second look. I find it interesting that you look at the third one the way you do. Since the first two images are cropped out of the third one that is interesting. The fun aspect is what led me to take the picture in the first place.
