Forest Light
These pictures emphasize the quality of light found in a south coastal forest, in this case on the Friday Harbor marine station lands.
The black and white conversions were chosen to show the reflected light coming from different species in the understory.

This post was scheduled in advance as I am out of town and completely off grid for the first two weeks of June. Naturally I won’t be answering any comments until I get back – but please, don’t hesitate to comment, I will do my best to respond when I can.

Nice. I especially like the forest path shot.

Thanks Danita! I like that one too. It is interesting for me to look at these again after being away for a couple of weeks, living and working at the edge of a very different forest on Haida Gwaii – a very wet forest smothered in moss and lichen. I don’t have too many shots of it, but enough to make a post or two I think, by way of comparison.
