Sangan Shorebird Prints
Yesterday I featured shorebirds from the mouth of the Sangan River, probably plovers. Today, I show you their tracks in the softer sand on the upper beach, some partly washed away, others firmly planted on top of human footprints as if to assert primacy.
This map shows you where today’s images were taken just east of Massett on the shore of Dixon Entrance.

The “J” photo had me confused a little, but I get it now. I like the tracks in the sand idea, very clever.

Thanks Ken. It is interesting how the tracks vary, apparently by the level of moisture in the sand they are walking on. In J for instance, the shoe print must have been drier than surrounding areas because the prints are so much more gross and poorly defined.
