Cat Ears, Eyes
Once again I have gone overdue for posting about the Cat. She reminds me I have a Cat tab at the top of the blog just so my readers can find all of Her wonderfulness back to the beginning of blog. I know I should make better use of it. Since she has stopped sleeping on our bed and thus providing warmth to my partner’s feet, I am under double pressure to post these pictures. I know when I am beat, icy feet on my warm legs are really the last straw.
The post is about her ears, which are on the alert for the neighbour’s cat that lives behind where she is sitting, and has tried to visit us of late.
This post is also about her eyes, which are curious and interested and probably not fully approving because I rarely do things exactly right.

Canon 5DMkii, Canon 100mm/f2.8 macro lens, ISO400, f2.8, 1/250th (top) and 1/320th (bottom).

These shots are some of my favorites. Your cat is so photogenic, Ehpem! And tell her I said so!

What character!! Love the eyes in both images and for the decision to conver to B&W!

Thank you David. She has tons of character, much of it quite demanding. Basically she is asleep, or asking for something. She asks that I get out of bed in the morning so she can get under the covers (sharing is not an option) for a few hours, she asks to be picked up and put next to the sink for a drink, even though she can do it just fine when we are not here, she asks to be let out the back door since the cat door is not very comfortable for her poor sensitive nose, and to be let back in sometimes, not to mention for food. But, we are good pets and do whatever our Cat master requests and thus live in harmony most of the time.

Two fabulous images. Those eyes are extraordinary.

Thanks! A fast 100mm macro seems to be the perfect lens for that kind of shot.

WOW!!! Great cat portraits. I agree a cat’s eyes are very expressive. I suppose I should drag Emo out of retirement and get a new shot of him. It’s pretty easy to do since he sleeps 23 hours a day.

Thank you Ken! My cat does not sleep quite that much, but a lot more than her kittenish time a decade ago.
