Feline Help

Cats sometimes take on the role as helper. Knowing how much they disdain a subservient role in life, one must always be suspicious of such offers. In my experience they are usually sarcastic.
Witness these images of the chair shadow I was photographing on Sunday. Was this helpful, or more like a one-cat flash-mob?
She has patches of stripes – do you suppose she was trying to blend in on this shot so I might accidentally publish her picture.

.
She is keeping a very close eye on the shadow, trying to figure out where I might need her help next.

.
I think she is most pleased with the next one.

.
The last picture is a still from yesterday’s timelapse. She found 3 places to sit, just long enough to flicker and distract the eye from the main subject of chair shadow, but not long enough to contribute in a positive way to the video. Typical.

Haha! These are making me smile a lot. Fascinating, cats.

Aren’t they though. I don’t seem to have this problem sometimes, like on cold wet days, still trying to figure that pattern out.

You chose your chair well. It produces some wonderful shapely shadows. Cats always want to be at the centre of attention.

Andy, I agree about that chair – it casts a great shadow. I didn’t actually choose it, it came to live with us one day when a neighbour moved and didn’t need it any more. If you look at this style of chair with a view to the shadow they might cast, this one ranks very high.
Centre of attention, rather like centre of the universe.

Oh, I miss a cat in my life! I have to borrow my mother’s cat once in a while but to have one participate in your photographic adventures – fabulous!

Hi Lynn, I went for many years between cats, but can’t see that happening again.

Heh. As your purpose in life is to serve The Cat, clearly anything you are interested in must be of interest to The Cat as well, and require supervision. It’s only logical.

Cats ARE logical. And prone to supervision. For a dog owner, you show considerable understanding.

We also have cats. 😀

Ah, your dog must totally love getting out for a walk – beyond the reach of supervision for a while.

And, I see that I forgot my usual cat tags that she made a condition that I use in past posts, “master” and “lord”. That has been corrected, and supervisor added for this post as well.

I like Camouflage Cat in the second shot!

That was quite clever of her I thought, to blend stripes like that.

I bet you didn’t even notice her in the shot at first!

Of course not! She waits for my eye to go to the view finder and coordinates her movements with my moving head, when all is a blur. An adept.

Every photographer needs a 4 legged helper like this. Emo is a slug around the house until it’s time to prepare chicken but how sad life would be without him. Cat are great and it’s nice that they let you cohabitate with them.

It is very generous of cats that allow us to cohabit, even without chicken.
