Light Teaser III

More stills from a timelapse video that has not quite come together. These stills are from sequences that include those shown in Light Teaser a week or so ago. I could not resist a black and white conversion, which might seem like a strange thing to do to such brilliant colours, but I like how it came out.

I will be separated from my computer for the weekend, and may have intermittent access to another one. If not, then I will be back in action on Monday and will reply then to any comments you care to leave.

The dark interior with circuit boxes is mysterious and threatening, the lair of a
minotaur perhaps, while all outside is Cretan sunlight

The lair of minotaur might be a pretty good guess – maybe the whole breakwater is hollow and this is the entrance. If so, the Minotaur is likely to be in a foul mood what with the thousands of holes drilled into its firmament to hold the new railings.

It’s a coin toss for me as to preference but if I do toss it I think the color slightly edges out the B&W just because I like red, white and blue (not out of patriotism).

Thanks Ken. They are good colours together, and show off well with this structure.

awesome light and colors in a composition that supports and emphasizes the colors make the first photo a beauty. In my eye the second photo has perfect tones in the top half but is a little heavy on the black in the lower half. I love the detail of the textures especially the contrast between building and sky.

Hi Joseph, I dithered back and forth with that heavy black conversion of the red. I could not get it just right and decided that this was as good as I could get it in the time available. My preference is also the colour, partly for those reasons of yours, but mostly because it is a shame to lose such an unashamed red from the picture.
