Deer Fence V

More deer mesh; this time a mixed bag of images that don’t sit comfortably in any groups that I come up. You will have noticed I have been grouping this series into similar themes.

Ohh, seems like the second image is the winner in this little series. For me, it’s the greens and water droplets, the texture of the leaf and the sun sparkling away…beautiful!

Hi David – it really is a light shot, that is a shot full of light, which I like a lot as well.

The second image is also the strongest for me, too. This type of fence is used as a snow fence here. The town places them in fields and farms about 50 feet from the road during the winter months to prevent snow from drifting on to the road. They do a fine job if the wind doesn’t knock them down. It can get pretty fierce during the winter.

Thanks Ken. It is has always been a bit of a puzzle to me how they work for snow as I imagine (and remember from my childhood) drifting snow as easily being able to blow through small holes. I guess it creates a slower wind speed and a bit of a back eddy, which collects the snow. Someone had their brain turned on when they designed the stuff.

The center photo is the best, in my opinion: the contrast between green and black with the water drops make a very nice shot.
Also, I wanted to tell you that I was driving past some road construction yesterday; it was fenced off with a similar type of fencing, only orange and thicker plastic. I immediately thought about deer fencing (which we don’t have around here) and your photographs. I realize I should have been concentrating on road conditions and traffic and all that stuff, but it was deer fences and nasturtiums that I thought about…..

Thanks Melinda. I like that centre one too, but led with the blue because it is really quite different than all the others, just because of the colour. More water drops soon.
You must mean this kind of fencing: http://wp.me/p1R4lY-At
I am so glad to have mentally transformed that horrible stuff (which is often called snow fencing in Canada). Thanks for telling me:)

Now we are getting into subspecies I think. Orange, gaudy, plastic, full of holes. Like political party policies, but much better at preventing snow drifts.

I especially love the middle one – but then again, I am a bit of a raindrop junkie!

Thanks Paula, I have a raindrop only mesh post coming up tomorrow, or the day after. I can’t remember which order I scheduled them in.
