    • Some lighting engineer might be, but the people that have to navigate this intersection would need to be anything but to avoid a huge pile up at rush hour (not that they have a rush hour, but…).

      • When we lived in New Orleans, we had to learn a turn maneuver that we named the “New Orleans left.” Left turns weren’t permitted at most intersections, to make a left, we had to make a right and then a U-turn. Or, go past the intersection, make a U-turn and THEN a right. It was very confusing.

  1. The photos look like the array of lights may be confusing but I’ll bet it is obvious to drivers. I think the light manufacturers have successfully marketed the safety of multiple lights and now we see them everywhere except in some locations where they are actually needed.

    • Hi Ken. I think they are clear to the driver, or at least to a driver that has been through a couple of times. As you say, other locations might well benefit from a couple of the ‘extras’ from this intersection.
