Shade
This fantastic Arbutus tree is on the front lawn of the Heriot Bay Inn on Quadra Island.
We have been having excellent weather, in fact it has been beyond excellent for working as it has been a bit too hot out of the shade.
You can see how these people have gravitated to the shade beside Heriot Bay.
I took this shot on colour film with the intent of converting it to black and white but I like the colour better than the black and white.
Some time I will finish processing the black and white and show that too – it might work better with different filters.

I am off for several weeks of field research. Which means this blog will slow to a crawl as I won’t have much time for it.
There will be answers to comments, but they might be slow in coming. Please comment anyway if you feel moved to it.

What a gorgeous tree! It’s a little sad with the boats in the background, they do not do the tree justice, but a great shot. The light is so beautifully captured

Thanks Anne. The photo is all about light. We were there to negotiate a berth for the work boats so the marina did not seem out of place.

This deserves to be in colour to show the beautiful vibrant greens in that back-lit tree.
