Legislative Reflections
Here is the British Columbia legislative library on the back side of the Legislature, reflected in the still Centennial Fountain. I think it was turned off because of cold weather and possible freezing.
The last time I photographed this location, the fountain was active, but it was raining and there were reflections to be had from the puddles on the pavement.
Since that time the surrounds to this fountain have been completely redone. The new plantings have not yet matured so it is not as nice as it was, but I expect it will come into its own over the next few years.
My earlier post, Fountain of First Nations, is an elaborate production that tells the story of the fountain and some of the history of First Nations within British Columbia. It was also the first time I had used an old Nikkor-N lens I adapted for my DSLR.
This is the first time I have photographed this area on film. I like how the XP2 has rendered the scene.
Edit: I pressed publish before I scheduled this post. Have not done that for a couple of years. So, you get a bonus post today, and I will need to dig out another image for tomorrow.

Can’t see any images on your blog on my iPad. Am ‘liking’ blind! So upsetting!

That is very strange. There is an image here! What do you see instead – a symbol for a link, or something else? It sounds like a browser or security or battery conservation setting, but I don’t have an iPad, or anything Apple, so probably can’t help much. You could try a different browser for starters.

I can see the thumbnail for each post at the bottom of each page but click on the image and all I get is the words that accompany each post. No broken link symbol or any indication there is supposed to be a photo there. It must be a bug in a recent update of the app. I will write to WordPress to tell them about it. At least I can see a smattering of your past work, Mr E!

I have noticed some changed behaviour when inserting links during editing and the shortlink no longer is autopopulated in the twitter text box either. I think WP may have broken something.

Thanks for hotlinking to the Fountain of First Nations post which I missed first time round. What you say is thoughtful and thought provoking.

Thanks Val. I wish I still had time to do in depth posts like that one. They are nice to rediscover and read again.

Great photos! That is a very quiet and overlooked part of downtown Victoria.

Thanks Richard. It is eerily quiet without the white noise of the fountain. It is an interesting fountain, with a lot of BC history condensed into a few bronze plaques, and very much a product of its time too. My earlier post goes into that in some detail; you commented on it at the time.
