Look at all these paddles, and not a creek to be seen.

Why is it that one can be up a creek without a paddle, and then have paddles galore and no creek?

  Hi Yvonne – just to be pedantic for a moment but these be paddles. Oars are somehow connected to a boat (oar locks, that kind of thing) and usually used in pairs. Paddles are swung freely with two hands. These ones look like they are probably for the dragon boats – it takes a lot of work to push a blade that size through the water.
