A magical place but dont fall off the boardwalk, there are mythical beasts waiting, gryphons, basilisks, cockatrices..

Thanks elizabettina – in this place it is more likely to be Gogit a Haida mischievous spirit, than European beasts; but you are right, there are dangers in these apparently placid places.

There’s a similar boardwalk through mossy woods out to Cape Flattery, on the outermost tip of Washington state. Those wooden walkways can be slippery! But so beautiful.

Hi Lynn – last time I walked out to Cape Flattery was in the 70s – it was a muddy trail in those days. These boardwalks are surfaced with roofing asphalt – the gritty kind which does a good job of reducing the slippery factor.

Good – I don’t think the Cape Flattery ones have that extra traction.
