Reflection of a Shattered Self

IMG_9669

I took this picture of myself in the remnants of a window in Jordan River.

I was showing our Texan visitor Melinda Green Harvey around the Jordan River area on our way to Port Renfrew.

She loves photographing old rural buildings so this location was inked in the itinerary. Little did I know how well that would turn  out.

If you hang around these parts for a while you will see what I mean.

Sand Blasted

The beach at Point No Point – see the others from this visit here.

This was taken on a walk along the resort’s trails at sunset – I love these sand blasted rocks on the outer beaches.

They become so smooth and rounded even though it is against their natural inclination to break off in angular chunks.

Point No Point Island

IMG_9560 Full Sized

More from our stay at Point No Point – see the others here.

This was taken on a walk along the resort’s trails at sunset, and across a wonderful red bridge to this island.

It is a beautiful spot at any time, but sunset and blowing waves provided the icing on nature’s cake.

Point No Point Thicket

More from our stay at Point No Point – see the others here.

This was taken on a walk along the resort’s trails at sunset.

These thickets of salal, salmon berry and various thorny shrubs are impenetrable, especially on steep slopes.

Point No Point

Ocean Surface

IMG_9496

Like yesterday’s photography this is taken from the cabin we rented at Point No Point

It is looking in exactly the same direction as my previous post, angled downwards, just 3 minutes later.

It was wonderful to sleep with the surf’s song in our ears.

We rarely hear it from our house where the waves are a block away, and never this large.

Three Headlands Two Trunks

IMG_9488

This shot is taken from the cabin we rented at Point No Point on the south west coast of Vancouver Island last week.

It was taken in the evening, but goes well with one of my pinhole shots of the same view taken in the morning see it here.

My wife and I were out and about with Melinda Green Harvey who was visiting from Texas.

Check out her photography here if you are not familiar with it.
