Tracks left on the beach in Port Renfrew, and I have just left tracks on my way home from a training course. So, for the next little while I should be able to respond a bit more promptly.
A few days ago I showed some colour pictures of the old fire hall in Port Renfrew. This is the same building, earlier in the day. I like these better, the 50mm lens is more suited to this shape of building with a lot less distortion, and the colour is a bit much really, even if desaturated or otherwise muted.
This is another in-camera animated gif from my phone. I have been experimenting with it and find it is ok for wide areas of movement. But my finger is too fat to isolate small areas for movement.
Another cell phone shot posted from my phone. This is unmodified from the camera. I have been enjoying this view every morning as I have breakfast. My course ends today but I will see this one more time before heading south and home.
This is a test post from phone. I am in the boonies taking a course to be certified to operate small commercial vessels. This gif was produced in-camera and is the view in front of the “classroom”.

This is the old fire hall in Port Renfrew. Up above is the siren in its own little tower. The new hall is quite a bit further away on higher ground but I expect that siren still works and may still serve two functions. One is to call the volunteer firefighters to the station for an emergency. The other is for a tsunami warning as Port Renfrew is very vulnerable to such waves. It seems appropriate that a sirens call is also code for “run away”.
I took pictures here twice during my visit, once in the morning, the other at sunset. Today you get the sunset shots in colour, slightly enhanced with a HDR treatment, though the saturation is pretty much as found. Yesterday’s black and white shot is taken at the far end of this building.
