Tamarack Buds
This Tamarack is a deciduous conifer, shedding its needles every fall.
Tamarack means wood used for snowshoes, in the Algonquian subfamily of languages.
This picture was taken a few weeks ago and the tree is bright green now.

Hi Melinda, they are like that. It is such a strange thing to see needles emerge in the spring like that. I wonder if there is a difference between leaves and needles when it comes down to it. One day, I will look it up.

That is a bit worrying, because my understanding is that Texans have a very high threshold for finding something entertaining. At least something not including oil drenched cowboy hats, spurs and guns. Not to promulgate an international incident, or anything.

Thank you Mark. I love what this grainy film does to the out of focus areas. The lens is one I frequently use on my DSLR and I have never had this feel on digital.
