More from snowy Quadra Island in February. Driftwood on the beach, next to the Half-frame Tree shot.
Even on a rainy and grey day there is something colourful to draw the eye.
This post goes well with those in the Half-frame Stripes post of a week or so ago, but is taken on the end of my latest roll of film; trying to use it up so I could see the snow photos. It also kind of goes with the tree trunks in yesterday’s post.
One might not want to plumb the depths of this one since it is part of the sea wall that holds up the sewage “treatment” plant on Clover Point. I do like how it vanishes into itself though. The title was suggested by Melinda Green Harvey in a comment on that other post, though she had not seen this image so she might not think it is very suitable now that she can see it.
These shots are from Quadra Island as well, taken a few hours before it started to snow. My room looked out on these trees that were lit by the lights on the outside of the building. I liked the vertical stripes of the trunks in the dark which is what I went out to shoot, but the stars took my fancy once I got out there.
More from a few snowy days on Quadra Island in February. This is my favourite of all the shots on this roll of film. I came as close to a perfect join between the two frames as I am likely to get (I thought I was going a bit too far with the in-camera crop), I like the composition and the brighter light on the snow closer to the ocean.
Another pair of fliptychs from the snowy few days on Quadra Island a couple of weeks ago.
Another pair of fliptychs that go well together – these are flipped in the opposite order to ones I showed earlier in the week here.
