This photo is from a few days ago and is by way of contrast with the warmth and calm of yesterday’s post. Yes, it is another Ross Bay storm drain photo, this time taken at dusk when the light was nearly gone.
Another Ross Bay storm drain photo from the Canon Powershot G15 taken the same time as the pictures in a post of a few weeks ago called Drain Test in which I explore the HDR capabilities of the camera.
This is where the cat drinks. When the tap was dripping she got used to drinking at the sink, and now it is fixed she still wants to drink at the sink, so has her own cup of water.
Another in my seemingly endless series on the Ross Bay Storm Drain. It has a been a while since I posted one, so I don’t feel too bad doing it yet again.
This view is the very end of the drain structure. I took it last night after dinner in rapidly failing light; a very blue light. The swells nearly crested the top of the drain a couple of times, and at others squirted up through this circular lid, though I did not get a picture of that. I was glad I did not get wet feet. I like the encrustation of marine life, mostly on the mortared cracks in the concrete.
I took these shots two weekends ago, but had forgotten them somehow, with house guests and all that. They are close-ups, at about 3X magnification, of a flowering plum blossom brought inside from a tree in the front yard. Other than very early blossoms, the most notable thing about this tree is the way it brushes past the face of passengers leaving our car in the driveway – kind of nice when blooming, kind of annoying when full of rain.
This plant is along the waterfront of the Chinese Cemetery, near to the tidal edge. I don’t know what it is, and I am not sure if it is in flower, or just getting ready to bloom.
This saw horse has resided in my back yard seemingly for ever. I use it once or twice a year, and repair it just as often. It has nearly come to the end of it’s useful life.
