Ross Bay Cloud
Any one tired of the Ross Bay storm drain yet? This photo is from last Sunday which was overcast and cold most of the day, but this scene presented itself on my way home.
This time I include the colour version as there is so little to choose between them. I really don’t have a strong opinion about which I prefer, though I fall on the side of the black and white just because many of the others in this series are also monochrome.
This vantage point is nearly identical to the storm drain I showed earlier this week.

I prefer the colored version. It adds to the melancholic vibe. I know that b&w usually conveys that mood, but in this instance, the muted blueness works better.

And melancholia is a sea in which you dabble your toes quite frequently!

Both of the images are great! But I prefer B&W!

Hi ristinw – thanks for coming by my blog, and for commenting too. I like your photos – one of your black and whites reminds me very strongly of some of my photos of this drain, though at a different scale and different PoV.

B&W … as usual 😉

I agree, more drama in the b & w version.

For me it’s the B&W…way more drama in that version.

Hi David – thanks for your vote – a consensus is forming. (I only have to say that in order for the colour votes to start coming in).

Both are lovely. Again, you have composed something of beauty.

Thanks Ryan. I will take it that you are not yet sick of this storm drain. I do have more shots of it from different days wearing different personalities.

Never. But I’m a big fan of repetition. I’ve been known to listen to the same song over and over for weeks at a time. : )
Besides, with images so lovely it’s easy to admire.

I loved both but I would prefer B&W, since the only color seems to be missing here is blue. 🙂
Nice clicks. Loved the clouds! 🙂

Hi Nandini – thank you! It is very blue in the colour version – seems to be typical for this time of the year over the ocean.
