Johnson and Cook Bike Rack 1

More yellow from the Johnson and Cook Streets series, this time with bike racks.

I guess this one was empty because of the rain. But maybe there is not a lot of action in this building. It has a bit of a ghostly empty feel about it, even though a window or two were open. I am not sure why, but this place feels forgotten, maybe it’s the wood slats behind the glass.

  1. I’ve never seen a bike rack like that. Odd that it’s so close to the windows. They did keep the shade of yellow pretty uniform looking at the other photos, though. I like the flowers in the foreground of the second shot, too.

    • Hi Ken. These kinds of bike racks were common at one time around here. Easy to trip over though. I think the hazard might be one explanation for the placement, but also this part of town is a bit questionable so having the bikes next to a window could make them more secure, and there is a bit of an overhang higher up with might protect them a bit from the rain. That yellow paint is all over the place around this building. Someone really went to town.
