Johnson and Cook IX
I am not quite done with the peeling parking curbs which are in an ongoing series of the sights at the corner of Johnson and Cook Streets in Victoria, British Columbia.
These are a continuation of the black and white versions – imagine the yellow lines and curbs if you want, but I like these rainy shots better this way. The top shot is a crop from the one below. I think I prefer the top one.

burnt embers 
These are both very nice shots; I don’t think I could pick a favorite. I like the new header, too: it’s spare and elegant. And only one of the lights is turned on, which I fuid appealing.

In a half full/half empty sort of way, I think that one of the lights is burnt out. That is the bias of burnt embers showing through, I guess. I like the idea of the header casting light on the post beneath. And before anyone else says it, a bit of revealing light is likely needed on these pages.

These fit into the series very nicely and it’s a series I’ve really enjoyed. One of the nice things about have a good full frame camera is the ability to crop and still retain detail in the image, and this is more proof of that. Also, the series proves to just as effective in black and white as in color, a two-fer..

Thank you Ken. There are actually quite a few more waiting in the wings. Some of those have to be in colour for sure. My new header is from this series too.
