Johnson and Cook XIII

Another in the series from the corner of Johnson and Cook Streets here in Victoria, this time just a few steps up Johnson. This is the edge of a small parking lot – another vacant lot where there is simpler money to be made from parking fees than from the old house that doubtless was here at one time. I am not sure this is the greatest advertisement by the construction company which is fixing the fence at the back of the neighbouring lot.
The picture below is taken at right angles to the fence above. Cars park with their bumpers hanging over this edge of someone’s garden. Presented here as a little mewling voice from the past – the house on this lot looks to be on its last legs.

I am preparing this in anticipation of the computer parts I have ordered arriving and being installed so as to upgrade that will allow me to continue with timelapse photography, and pretty much all other uses of the computer when it comes to it. Thus, I might be a bit slow replying to any comments and so on.

Ephem, I like the lighting hanging over your photographs, very clever! : )

Thanks Karen! It works better in some shots than others. This is one of them.

I guess the contractor wasn’t too concerned about the other side of the fence, but it makes for an interesting shot.

I guess there was no where else to hang an advertising sign where anyone but the tenants in the apartment building on the other side of the fence would see it. I think they were working for the apartment building, not the parking lot owner.

Maybe the ACTUAL contractor hung up a sign advertising his/her competition?

I did not think of that – but it could be!
