Cosmic Web II
Back to the cosmic webs in my garden, previously shown in Cosmic Web and Iris Cosmos. This web has some fabulous details in it that can be found with very tight crops.
They are rather like a shaky shot of a neon rich night scene, wormholes for aiding interstellar travel or plucked and bowed strings in the orchestra of the cosmos. Just what kind of music do spiders hear when their webs vibrate?

Thanks martine – I must get the high magnification macro gear out again and give it some exercise. It has been too long.

Ha! You are so right. Free form, some of it. Lots of bass too.

Yes!
You could do an entire series on this, a symphony of webs. It would make a great exhibit!
You’d need some live music at the opening…

What a great idea. It think the display would need to be flat panels (like the ones in this show: http://wp.me/p1R4lY-1hi), and the lighting suitably dim.

Oh yes, backlighting it looks like – that would be perfect.

I like the idea of isolating a portion of a photo and bringing out the details. These are really nice and I love the variety of colors you can get in the webs,

Thanks Ken. These ones can be hard to place back into the shot since I rotated some of them quite heavily for more pleasing compositions. I also like the grainy aspect of many of these. Only one of them I worked at a bit to reduce the grain (fourth) and I regret it a bit now.

Thank you! There is a wonderful world all around and at our feet if we only take the time to look – you could see this in an industrial wasteland, if you looked for it.

Well, thank you for capturing the not-always-obvious beauty in the small things that make up this wonderful world.
