Don’t Fall

This barrier stops you falling a fatal distance from the top of the hidden sewage plant at Clover Point. It is what I was leaning on when taking the pictures of long shadows show in recent posts, like this one.

It’s certainly the sky that captured me (then again, you know I am a sucker for an awesome sky…okay, an awesome cloudy sky)! 😉

Hey David – we have to learn to appreciate cloudy skies in this part of the world, or we would end up only doing studio photography 300 days of the year.

I like the soft, muted tones on this but the real draw for me is the light post. That’s inspired.

Thanks Ken. The light post was an important piece for me – and its shadow too. Besides which, I could not take the picture without it and without cropping the barrier, which seemed wrong in this instance.

I like how the concrete wall breaks up the texture of the water. It really seems like it’s framing the landscape. Great shot!

Hi Paul! Thanks for the comment. A one sided frame is a pretty cool thing, and I see what you mean.

I like the way the textures in the sky, in the water, and on on the concrete wall all work together here.

Thanks Melinda. I agree – they are all kind of muted. Not very exciting but compatible. Typical winter day around here actually, muted light, mushy kind of visuals.

I forgot to mention that I appreciated the sewage plant reference….
I was out shooting yesterday – in very bright sunlight – and found myself sort of wishing for more muted lighting conditions….

I would recommend you get over the urge for less sun. You don’t want to wish days or weeks of cloudiness upon yourself.

I like the colours – varying shades of grey, and a strip of green on the bottom.

Thanks Kiki, that strip of green is what I had my eye on while adjusting the saturation levels.
