Standard Lighting
Someone let me know if I am trying your patience with some many pictures of the same concrete barrier – it is the one with the paper graffiti affixed. And the light standard is the same as seen in this shot.
Of these two shots I prefer the first one, especially the way the eye follows the curve to the edge of the frame and then doubles back. In the second shot, my eye just kind of falls off the end of the barrier. Having said that, I would have been satisfied with the second one if that was all I had. I kind of like the extra energy from the faintly seen jet contrail.

First one for me, hands down. I like the continuing sweep of the barrier in that one.

Yes, the top one is much better (in my opinion). I like the feeling it gives the viewer that the wall goes on forever.

Thanks Melinda. I like the two dark triangles, and the hidden part of the distant curve, they way they pull the eye around the photo.

The first one is the stronger of the two compositions, I agree, although the texture of the barrier in the second is very nice.

The first one for the reasons you give, also, all the energy of the lines are concentrated within frame.

Hi Malin, and thanks. It is nice to have the opinions of other people, the top one was taken after the bottom one. Even though I thought the bottom one was going to work out just fine I am glad I reframed it and tried again.
