Siren Call or Warning
This is the old fire hall in Port Renfrew. Up above is the siren in its own little tower. The new hall is quite a bit further away on higher ground but I expect that siren still works and may still serve two functions. One is to call the volunteer firefighters to the station for an emergency. The other is for a tsunami warning as Port Renfrew is very vulnerable to such waves. It seems appropriate that a sirens call is also code for “run away”.
I took pictures here twice during my visit, once in the morning, the other at sunset. Today you get the sunset shots in colour, slightly enhanced with a HDR treatment, though the saturation is pretty much as found. Yesterday’s black and white shot is taken at the far end of this building.

The sky in the first photo is very nice. And I agree with the other comments – the color palette is pleasing to look at.

I am a sucker for these lovely rich colours and interesting subject matter you keep coming up with. My housemate agrees and hopes there won’t be a tsunami where we live near the head of a narrow coastal inlet. We would be goners. Val

I too like the rich colours of sunset, and this colour of paint is especially amenable to it. Sounds like you guys need some higher land. It is the same for my house – not quite as low as yours, but not comfortably elevated either.
