Beach Grasses III
More from the beach below Beacon Hill Park. Shot in mid-January, the blackberry leaves were prematurely announcing spring, or was that belatedly signalling autumn?
Other shots from this location, and the stair case that gets you down to it, can be found here.

Hi martine – the winter palette around here is wonderful – when looked at closely there turns out to be a lot more than dull browns and greys even though viewed from afar, or casually, it does not often seem very interesting.

Can’t decide which one I like the best. They are both very beautiful. I love the change of focus which gives the images so much movement and the contrast of the saturated colour of the leaf with the muted colours of the grasses. I think the top one is my fave, but it is a close call.

Thanks Katherine – I am undecided as well – I like the curves in the bottom photo, and the blackberry leaves in the top one. Probably indicates I should have found a way to combine the two when taking the photo.
