Triplet
Looking up seems a bit of a theme around this blog these days (look here and here to see what I mean).
This is more from the time I spend showing Melinda around Victoria a few weeks.
Looking up is definitely a useful variation on Melinda’s motto to always look around back.

The bent shadows are great, very nice!

Thanks Karen – I think it is the shadows I like best in this shot too. Though the colour refused attempts at conversion to monotone for some reason…

So – another shot I missed. It’s clear that I need to come back….

Yes. You do need to.
I have no idea where you were for this one, but I think it was right there with me. This was right after we cut out of the narrow alley with arches and started to loop back to Bastion Square to find the patient spouse.

I recognize the general area, but am certain I missed this particular shot. Actually, my blog post for tomorrow was taken at the far end of the arched alley.
Yay for patient spouses! We are both lucky on that front, aren’t we?
And, as far as a return trip, I do have a conference in Seattle in mid-April….

Oh well. You were probably looking around back or something. We are very lucky in the patience of our spouses! Mid-April next year would be great – totally different weather than the glorious sunny summer you happened upon this time, but perhaps more interesting for it.

Always look up – well worth it in this instance. The shadows are fascinating – the wall looks worth a shot on its own for the mural I see a bit of.

Hi Andy – looking up is proving to be good practice. The mural is interesting and worth a shot sometime when there are no cars parked tight against the building – early on a Sunday morning perhaps.

Hi Rob – thanks! I like that kind of overhanging light – they seem a bit like eyes on stalks and thus are a bit more animated than many other light fixtures.

I’ve looked at life from both sides now
From up and down and still somehow
It’s life’s illusions I recall

Val – this is the first time in more than a thousand posts, and 6500 comments, that anyone has quoted Joni Mitchell on this blog. Very apt.
