Coffee Chairs
I have been back to this spot when in use, but the chairs and tables get moved around, probably taken in every night, and this is by far the nicest arrangement I have seen, with or without people.
Once again, taken with the Olympus XA2 while testing the camera – you are probably getting the idea that I took quite a few pictures with the camera during the tests and you would be right. Three rolls of 24 and not many duds. I am pretty happy with the shooting ratio in that short week of analogue photography.

Images like this are never easy to capture. The composition is somehow outside of one’s direct control. It’s the responsibility of the cafe owner. (there could be a series there!). The patterning on the floor plays a part too. This is where my faithful assistant (aka the wife) might have come in useful. I have been known to despatch her and ask her to move an object for me. Now there’s a thought for you!

Well that is an idea Andy – both the series and the faithful assistant. There is another shot of this location in a more recent post but it is quite different with an emphasis on light.

Beautifully shot. I love how the tables say “La Fiesta” as well, contrasting nicely with the quiet emptiness.

Thanks GGNB – I think the cafe these are associated with goes by that name. This spot is set back from a busy street, but is much quieter than one expect being in a partially enclosed area. With a convenient set of stairs and balcony above it!

I like the angle you shot this from – and the arrangement is very nice.

Thanks Melinda! It is not an arrangement that I could conceive or make for the sake of a photo – very organic. Hints at people just left and their numbers.

I want to think you’ve got a team of assistants who scurry about moving chairs in arrangements that meet your personal aesthetic of how they “ought” to look. I can hear you saying, “More to the left. More. More. Back to the right.”
Not really – there’s no way that these chairs could have been set up to convey the recently-vacated look you captured here.

I agree – no way at all that this could be this artfully arranged on purpose, except perhaps by a genius of stage design and I don’t know any of those.

I love it when chairs arrange themselves perfectly for a photo.
