Three Wheeled Shadow
One of the nicest things about the park in my neighbourhood is that there are many toys donated for the pleasure of the younger kids.
No one steals them, though sometimes they are borrowed for a ride to the beach stairs or other activity.
Within a few hours the borrowed items are back.
This tricycle is one which my granddaughter usually tries out even though it is a bit big for her still.

Hi David – it is a great idea that an awful lot of children have had a lot of pleasure from. The biggest danger is late evening teenagers deciding to ride or play and breaking things.

Most certainly she will Ken. She is growing like a weed and her toes pretty much reach the pedals for all of their circuit, not quite though. She likes to be pushed around on it though.

It is an excellent idea. When we moved to this area in the mid-90s there were almost no kids in the neighbourhood, and most of them were a lot older than ours. Even so, the guy that lives next to the park had put his son’s metal tonka style toys into the sand pit. He would bring them in in the winter so they did not rust. I don’t suppose he realised he was planting a seed, but he sure did. The older people sold up and have been replaced with young families and the park has very heavy use compared to before.
Now the donations are mostly plastic cars, trucks, wagons, things for the sandbox and things to ride, even playhouses. People are good about tidying up, and the city mowers just move them any strays out of the way when they cut the playing field. It is a great community.
