Not for the Street
This building may be next to the street, but most certainly is not welcoming to street people.
It is an exclusive club. I assume they let (influential) women in, but if not I wouldn’t be too surprised.
The street knitter would never get in the door, not even the back door.
Neither would I.

And, anyway, who wants to be inside an exclusive club when there are street knitters and other buildings and so forth that need to be photographed?

That is very true Melinda. You can be that they are not talking about photography in there, and it seems highly unlikely that the walls have photographs other than stuffy portraits of well fed past presidents.

If they ARE talking about photography, it’s probably about who the latest, most popular photographer is and how soon they need to book him/her to get photos of the Spring Cotillion. (Do you have Cotillions in Canada? That may be a Southern U.S. thing.)

I think that is a stretch – who talks about photographers these days?
We don’t have Cotillion’s, at least not by that name, in this part of Canada. Perhaps we did 150 years ago?
