Hi Mario, I did not know his full name, but was aware of the event. Many of the colonial names in this area are related to late 19th century scientists, mostly in the earthsciences. Darwin, Ramsay, Lyell, Murchison, Faraday, Huxley, Hutton, Sedgwick are some of them. They were named by George Dawson of the Geological Survey of Canada.
