Fired Up
Last weekend we took my mother to the Fired Up ceramics show in Metchosin to the west of Victoria.
It was a nice outing that we always make if in town.
The picture above is of guest artist Sophia Kim, and below is part of her display being visited by one of my partner’s carved wooden dolls.
Sophia’s work is finished to look like tree bark.
Fired Up is an annual fine art show that started 32 years ago.
It should not be confused with a fairly new ceramics store in Victoria that has cheekily adopted the same name for their store, which doesn’t exhibit the slightest pretension tofine art.
