A week ago we went to the Fired Up ceramics show in Metchosin, west of Victoria.
These ceramics are made by Beth McMillin who is pictured below chatting with my mother.
Beth’s pieces have a wonderful organic/biological feel to them
I have posted wall art from this building before.
The artwork is constantly repealed and replaced.
The Janion Building, nearing the end of a renovation after decades of being derelict.
I have found that this lens needs to be shot with an exposure compensation of at least EV+1
Last weekend we took my mother to the Fired Up ceramics show in Metchosin to the west of Victoria.
It was a nice outing that we always make if in town.
The picture above is of guest artist Sophia Kim, and below is part of her display being visited by one of my partner’s carved wooden dolls.
Sophia’s work is finished to look like tree bark.
Fired Up is an annual fine art show that started 32 years ago.
It should not be confused with a fairly new ceramics store in Victoria that has cheekily adopted the same name for their store, which doesn’t exhibit the slightest pretension to (more…)
It was my mother’s birthday last week.
I joined my parents, a sister and family friend under the wisteria for lunch that day .
I am not sure what my sister said, but it must have been very amusing.
