Fired Up II
A week ago we went to the Fired Up ceramics show in Metchosin, west of Victoria.
These ceramics are made by Beth McMillin who is pictured below chatting with my mother.
Beth’s pieces have a wonderful organic/biological feel to them

Very organic and tactile ceramics.

Hi Andy – they are indeed, they ask to be held, and very sensibly Beth invites viewers to hold them.

Wow! I love these pieces – the sensuous shapes, the dramatic details. Thank you for sharing these, ehpem.

Thanks Lynn – I love them too. So biological – you have to wonder if you bury and water them whether fantastical plants would spring out of the ground.

Ahh, they are wonderful pieces! I like the presentation in the box, like specimens. And the photos are great, especially that first one!

Thank you Lynn. These were very difficult to photograph. Thankfully film is quite forgiving with highlights and there was a lot of information that could be recovered from slightly over exposed photos.

Hi Sherry – they are terrific shapes. Beautiful things to hold and look at, and some can even be used to hold things, or drink out of.
