Gravy Flagellum
I made roast beef a couple of weeks ago. With gravy.
After dinner, and before I started on the dishes, I noticed this pattern. It was in the roasting pan which had extra gravy in it. I suppose a spoon had been resting in it for a while, but don’t really know. In any case, it caught my eye and I had to get the camera out.
Had I found this pattern under a microscope in a tiny sample of gravy I expect the public health authorities would have descended, and withdrawn my cooking credentials.

Oh well done.. I thought it was some kind of microbe and then I read your description 😉

Yes, really. It reminds me of a piece of jewelry I have that’s got a trilobite set in sterling silver. Without your explanation, it could be anything – a fossil, a rock, an aerial shot of some badlands, or even some gravy.

Probably should have got people to guess what it is – would be a good giggle when gravy was revealed.
