Attack of the Monitor Lizard

As I have mentioned before, my surroundings are swarming with Hitty dolls. A close call occurred last weekend when a lizard got loose from the recording studio (aka living room) where it usually resides on the studio monitors (yes, it is a monitor lizard – it migrated from the computer when we upgraded to a flat screen that is too skinny for a comfy perch).
Here we can see that the lizard has hold of The Bug, a baby troll frequently misplaced by its forgetful sister. Hitty Rose fends it off, while most others are so deep in their books they do not notice. Sadly, its sister never was aware The Bug was missing. All ended well, and The Bug was not harmed in its well padded wrap.

.
I will be separated from my computer for the weekend, and may have intermittent access to another one. If not, then I will be back in action on Monday and will reply then to any comments you care to leave.

oh my very very funny. IT does seem that Bug proves to be rather indestructible. Altho it did look like Bug was about to become a munchies!!
Great little story and pics.

Hi Sherry, nice to have you visiting over from the Quimper Hittys. I have a sneaking suspicion that Bug probably tastes very yucky – it would explain why he has not been scarfed down already, by a puffin, if not a lizard.

I am out of town for the weekend and havoc is being wreaked in the Hitty cupboard!

Thanks for the reblog! I hope things have settled down and the lizard has found some real insects to eat.

It is amusing eh? Not my joke, but one that has been perpetuated in our house. This monitor lizard occupied a monitor at my in-laws for many years before it came to roost at our placed a decade ago. It is very pleased that the studio monitors, which are large and black and warm, like a big rock, came into being just when flat screen monitors pushed the last comfy roost out of the house.

Are you SURE that’s not Godzilla?

I think it’s a close cousin, a belly and tail dragger though, so kind of a more trashy cousin to Godzilla.

I don’t usually indulge in this fun, with my camera anyway, but it happens all the time around my place. As is evident over at the Quimper Hitty blog.
