Toba Textures II
.

A slightly longer view of the canopy textures than I previously posted in my series of aerial shots from my flight up the Toba River.
The colour of the glacial melt water goes very well with the muted fall colours that predominate in this area.

Awesome capture, I actually find the absence of hues of orange and vibrant yellows to be wonderfully refreshing.

Hi Vincent – thanks for commenting and welcome to my blog! For me these are the fall colours of the coast – those oranges and yellows are not natural in this area, except in very small pockets.

A truly neverending supply of incredible compositions, my friend, what a great set of shots here. I love the tones and textures that nature has created for you to capture here!

Hi Toad. You would have loved this flight up the Toba – we ascended into the fog from Campbell River – straight up into a “blue” patch which did not look different to me, then flew over the top of the fog to Cortes Island where we picked up another passenger, then up the valley. It was beautiful above the fog – such a nice day. On the way back, I got put down at a friends house on Read Island, in their backyard. The chickens freaked out, of course, and the dogs were not happy.

beautiful harmony of colours – that is a blue colour I remember so well from my visit to BC. The overhead view is so unusual but so effective

Thank you Andy. The colours really struck me as something special.

The color is fantastic but what really is nice in these photos is the aerial point of view that we don’t get to see very often.

Thanks Ken – I could not agree more – it was such a treat to get up in a helicopter with a good camera and a window that slid open next to me. A rare treat.

I agree about those tones of yellow/browns and that gorgeous greeny water – beautiful together!

Thanks Karen! It is an unusual colour anywhere but in the mountains so it is nice to have it down at the coast amongst trees.
