Lily Stamen

We went for a visit to the Horticultural Centre of the Pacific yesterday, which has an abundance of irises at the moment. This is not one of them, as was pointed out to me in the comments section below!.

    • Hi Marc – welcome to my blog, and thanks so much for the correction, which I have made to the body of the post, and the title as well. I don’t know what I was thinking other than I was amazed by the number of irises they had there. I must admit that when I have the macro lens on the camera my field of view can be come remarkably narrow, which is probably what happened here because I do know that these stamens don’t look like they belong to an iris. Thanks again!

      • I can understand how a lot of iris could amaze you,,, as a plant morphology nut and a fan of macro photography, I had to pass along the correction. Looking forward to more of your posts!

      • Thanks Marc. I have not done much macro photography later, but clearly I should be getting back into it – the summer is here, the gardens full of things that lend themselves to closeups.
