Flipped Actor
An actor’s trailer on Clover Point during filming, shot with my half-frame film camera. This is an in-camera diptych where the camera is flipped between shots and the digital image is made by scanning the adjacent frames. I did not get the wheels lined up, which I was aiming for, though perhaps this way there is more tension in the photo.

Olympus Pen, half-frame camera, Ilford Pan F Plus, ISO50, 1/50th, ~f5.6.

As you know, I am not a fan of symmetry, so having the wheels NOT line up makes this a better shot. (In my opinion.)

Thanks Melinda. I don’t think with my skill level they were ever going to line up perfectly. But I think I would have liked them a bit closer.

Thanks! I like the surreal aspects that come with flipping images on the negative. That camera is operational again (I hope) and loaded, so I must take it out for some more fliptych photography. Just feeling a bit distracted by the Olympus XA for the time being. My pockets are not big enough for the both of them. Which means I need a new jacket I suppose.
