Square Gates
I had intended to include these shots in a post from a few weeks ago call Square Tour.
That was post held a collection of shots from Market Square made with Olympus XA2 cameras I was testing.
Above is a side gate detail, below is the main gate. I think there are 5 street or parking lot level entrances that are gated.
In addition there are three or four entrances through doorways that mostly open onto stairways to other levels.

There’s nothing square about that (sorry couldn’t resist that comment)! Actually there is – just spotted one or two down the right hand edge. I love the simplicity of this and the well chosen framing.

Hi Andy. The top image is rotated 90 degees. It was strongly lit from the side and works better with the light at the top. I was by there yesterday (its a few feet from the camera store I go to for used odds and ends) and it had a very strong shadow, which of course I stopped to snap. Beginning of a roll though, so could be a while before I see that one. And it probably won’t do well rotated. Funny thing, I noticed yesterday that the same style of gate are in quite a few places inside the square too. I expect I will take a few more pictures of them.
