Unfinished
In the late fall I passed through Coombs (on Vancouver Island about 150 km north of Victoria).
I stopped to take pictures as it has some extravagant statues and brightly coloured stores and installations (for want of a better word).
The place is designed for people like me, passing through with cameras – very touristy, but it was the off-season and no one else was there.
Funny that this should be my favourite image, taken on the side of a building that probably is not quite finished, and has been that way for a few years.

I’ve never really been able to explain why my favorite photos from a day of shooting seem to be so different from what others like. Maybe there is a connection between the photo and the photographer that’s difficult to put into words. I like this shot, too.

Thanks Ken. I find that is often the case. Why this even caught my eye is something I can’t explain too well – it is partly where I parked, which gave a clear view of this building and this part of it. I might well have not walked over to look as everything else was very clean, well painted, brightly coloured and totally different. I have a few more shots of the building, which I will process sometime, and some of the brightly coloured area which will show up soon I expect, by way of contrast.
