Web Masters
Yesterday morning I drove past this meadow in Beacon Hill Park.
It is completely owned by spiders.
I had to turn around and take some pictures with my phone, the only camera I had with me.
There are more than these three photos, as you will see in the coming days.
There were hundreds and hundreds of webs.
All of them soaked in the dew, and most of them with their maker dead centre, also soaked in dew.

Nice closeups! In the mornings our yard is full of funnel webs…sadly there is no gifted photographer to immortalize them. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Sherry – it was one of those moments when the light and atmosphere coincided with my passing. Probably only like this for 15 minutes or so.

Goodness none of my comment made sense. Using a dictation app. Very important to remember to proof read !

Oh, now I see! Must be a strine accent processed through a murcan app? Proof reading is always a good idea though, regardless of the app. Thanks for commenting. Twice! Good for my stats 🙂

I am mortally wounded that you would think I had a Strine accent! 😆 But yes, it can’t understand me.

Well, I am very sorry about that misunderstanding. I could have said Oxbridge accent you know….

So beautiful! An arachnid Arcadia. Are used to be so scared of spiders, that forced myself to grow our soldiers. They really are amazing animals. I am looking forward to seeing more of your photos Mr E.

Wow Kate, was this too much coffee speaking, or something stronger?

Completely stuffed it up didn’t I ? Even in trying to make new comments to explain what happened, I stuffed it up! Must’ve been too much coffee! I ground my own beans for the first time in ages, this morning and made a lovely brew! Maybe it was too strong 😊😊

Yes, looks like jewelry. The cell phone cameras are looking good these days, but it is still the photographer’s eye that makes a great picture.

Thank you John!. The cell phone needed quite a bit of coaxing on most of these photos, it was a bit beyond its happy zone. But they came out OK, better than not having a photo at all!

Hi Val – that is what I thought too. They caught the light in wonderful ways – some of them even made rainbows, which are not too visible, but I’ll try to show in subsequent posts.

Aren’t spiders amazing creatures?

They are indeed Yvonne. I have taken a lot of macro shots of spider webs which are very cosmic, and not very worldly at all. I should do more of that some time.
