Shipwreck
Technically a wrecked barge, which is probably not a kind of ship.
A couple of barges broke loose from their tow a month or so ago.
They grounded on the Victoria shoreline in front of Beacon Hill park.
This one was the more difficult to remove, which took days.
Progress was interrupted by poor conditions, as you can see.
Fortunately they did not leave much of a mess behind.

I love the action you’ve captured here. The sea looks so majestic and violent.

Hi Tanya – thanks for commenting! Violent is a good word for it. Left to its own devices it could reduce that barge to a skeleton in short order.

You did a good job of showing how violent those waves are. Because I do not live near an ocean (and never have) it is hard to really imagine how
much energy is in that water.. A very interesting photo. thanks.

Thank you Sherry. I find it difficult to imagine the power of moving water even though I spend quite a bit of time in boats along some of the most exposed Canadian shorelines.
